Outfit Post: White & Etno

Hello!

U Zagrebu je još uvijek divno toplo, pa uživam u ljetnoj odjeći, sandalama, nakitu i ovo malo boje koja se nemilosrdno guli s mene...I slikanju na fontani...

It is still very warm in Zagreb so I am enjoying my summer clothes, sandals, jewellery...

Suknja je pomalo etno prizvuka, od grubog platna s malo čipke i smeđim trakama, idealna za moju najdražu kombinaciju bijele i smeđe...

The skirt has a bit of an ethnic tone, made of a coarse cloth with a little bit of lace and brown stripes, ideal for my favorite combination of white and brown ...


Ogrlica je iz Mostara, tatin poklon, inače ručni rad tamošnjih majstora, legura srebra i još nečeg...

The necklace is from Mostar, my dad's gift, otherwise handiwork of local craftsmen, alloy of silver and something else ...

Late Summer Gifts

Hello!

Godišnje doba prepuno plodova prirode, različitih boja i okusa je svakako kasno ljeto. Već nekoliko godina redovito radim džem od šljiva, a eto ove sam se godine odlučila i na džem od krušaka iz prekrasnog vrta bake Ane. Ne bojte se, recept je zaista jednostavan i brz, nećete morati kuhati satima...

Some years ago I've started making my own plum jam and this year I've decided to make also pear jam, from pears from my grandomther's beautiful garden. Don't worry, the recipe is really easy and it doesn't require hours long cooking...


Sastojci/ingredients ( na bazi 1 kilograma krušaka, količinu povećavajte kako želite / based on 1 kilo of pears, so you can enlarge quantity as you like):

1 kg krušaka/pears
1 limun/lemon
1 žličica cimeta/ tea spoon of cinnamon 
100 g smeđeg šećera/ brown sugar 
1 vanilin šećer/ vanilla sugar
1 žlica ruma/ spoon of rum 
1/2 žličice klinčića/ 1/2 tea spoon of clove 
1/2 Želina (sredstvo za želiranje)/ something for making jelly (people in the grocery store in your country will know the name of that thing, I don't unfortunatelly :))

Ocijedite limun u posudu i dodajte kruške, oguljene i narezane na kockice. Posipajte sa dvije-tri žlice šećera i stavite da se lagano kuhaju (šećer omogućava da kruške puste svoj sok).Kad se prokuhaju ( dakle nakon nekih 20-ak min) dodajte ostale sastojke (osim Želina) i kuhajte dok kruške ne omekšaju. Izmiksajte ih ugrubo štapnim mikserom i ukuhajte Želin prema uputi na pakiranju. (Ukupno vrijeme kuhanja je oko 45 min).

Drain the lemon into the pan and add the pears, peeled and cut into cubes. Sprinkle with two to three tablespoons of sugar and put that on light fire ( pears will let their juice because of the sugar). When that boils (that is after some 20 minutes), add the remaining ingredients (except that thing for making jelly) and simmer until the pears are pulpy. Mix them roughly with blender and in the end put that thing for making jelly, as directed on the package. (Total cooking time is about 45 min).


Smjesu ulijte u sterilizirane staklenke ( ja ih operem u suđari na 65 stupnjeva i ne otvaram suđaru dok mi ne zatrebaju, možete ih kratko ubaciti i u kipuću vodu.) Ugrijte pećnicu na 130 stupnjeva i zatvorene staklenke s džemom stavite unutra na 10-15 minuta. I to je to! :)


 Pour the mixture into sterilized jars (I wash them in dish washer at 65 degrees and I don't open until I need them, or you can put jars briefly in boiling water.) Preheat oven to 130 degrees Celsius and put closed jars with jam in for10-15 minutes.
And that's it! :)



Savjet: 
Količina šećera može varirati ovisno o slatkoći krušaka, tako da probajte smjesu dok kuhate pa eventualno dodajte još šećera.
Džem držite u hladnjaku jer gotovo da uopće nema konzervansa, pa da se ne pokvari.

Tip:
The amount of sugar can vary, depending on the sweetness of pears, so when you cook jour jam, try the mix and add more sugar if necessary.
Keep jam in the refrigerator, because it almost has no preservatives, so that it does not spoil.

Something Blue

Hello!


Nakon par tjedana, evo i mog novog, morskog outfita. Još sam uvijek na moru (lucky me :)), u Selcu, svom najdražem mjestu na svijetu! Kako dane provodim u badiću, bio je pravi podvig natjerati se u neku kombinaciju vrijednu outfit posta. Bilo kako bilo, nadam se da vam se sviđa.

After few weeks, here's my new outfit. I'm still at the seaside (lucky me :)), in Selce, my favourite place in the world! As I'm spending my days in swimsuit, it was a real accomplishment to get in some clothes worth of outfit post. However, I hope you like it.

Sweet Sweet Summer

Hello!

Nakon gotovo dva mjeseca na moru, evo me opet u Zagrebu. Vrijeme zaista leti...
Prvi dio ljeta sam provela u Selcu, drugi u malom predivnom mjestu Stanići, pored Omiša. Uglavnom, slike koje vam danas donosim su nastale u jednoj od rijetkih prilika kad sam se u nešto ekšli obukla, inače sam bila manje-više u kupaćim kostimima, gumenim japankama i ponekoj suknji...

So, after slmost two months spent on beautiful Adriatic coast, I am back in Zagreb. My summer was perfect mix of swimming, reading  and spending time with my kids and my husband. These outfit pictures were taken in one rare occasion in wich I actually dressed up a little, mostly I walked arround in swimsuits, rubber flip-flops and couple of skirts...

Sheila's Pudding







Bok! Evo jedan zgodan receptić za vrlo brzi kolačić...
Jede se topao sa sladoledom, jako je ukusan, a kako i ne bi bio kad je to receptić
meni beskrajno dragog Jamiea Olivera... baš je prava slatkica! :)

 Jamie's recipe for Sheila's Pudding from his book "The Return of the Naked Chef".

6 ripe peaches or nectarines, halved and stones removed
4 heaped teaspoons demerara sugar
1 vanilla pod, scored lengthwise and seeds removed
125gr / 4 1/2oz butter
125gr / 4 1/2oz caster sugar
2 large free-range eggs
125gr / 4 1/2oz self-raising flour

Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/gas 4.

Put the peaches in a saucepan with the demerara sugar, the vanilla seeds and 4 tablespoons of water.  Simmer for 5 minutes and then place into a well=greased and lightly floured ovenproof dish or bowl. 

Beat together the butter, caster sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.  Add the flour, mix thoroughly and spread over the peaches.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.  Remove from the oven and serve with hot custard or something cold, like vanilla ice-cream or creme fraiche.
